Free from Stress
There are many different ways you can alleviate stress in a positive manner. Here are a few positive steps to alleviate stress:
Breathing exercises. Breathe in through your mouth and out through your nose. Take deep breaths and count to 10 in between each breath. Try to hold the air in your lungs for at least 10 seconds before exhaling through your nose.
Get into a routine of watching a certain television program every evening and stick to it. Make sure that it is entertaining and funny. You can look forward to seeing this bit of entertainment each night and this will put some stability in your life.
Get a dog. Although a dog may be stressful at first, a dog will force you to slow down when it comes to life. Like people, dogs thrive on routine. In addition to getting you to slow down, a dog will also help you settle into a routine.
Find a creative pursuit. Stifled creativity can be very stressful for some people. This can also be the reason for your stress. Taking up a hobby that is fruitful such as painting or writing, can not only relieve your stress but eliminate the stress.
Read a book before bed instead of taking sleeping pills. Reading a book is a natural way to relax and is a much better for insomnia than sleeping pills.
Join a gym and force yourself to go. You may be more inclined to exercise if you actually shell out some money for the club. In addition to exercising, you will also get to meet different people.
Join a group where you can meet people who have interests similar to your own. This will give you a renewed sense of confidence, enable you to make new friends and get your mind off of your own stressors.
Volunteer to help someone else. Sometimes, just seeing other people who are way worse off than you is a real eye opener and instant stress relief. You end up doing something nice for another person who needs the help and everything gets put in its proper perspective.
Take a fast walk or run around the block. Sometimes, just getting out in the fresh air and running is a giant stress reliever. If nothing else, it is good exercise. Chances are that you will feel refreshed when you return home.
Cry! Johnnie Ray said it best – “go on baby and cry!” Crying, like laughing is a great way to release stress in an instant. Sometimes we all need a good cry. If you have been bottling up emotions, let it out by crying and chances are you will feel better.
Vastu (Fang sui)
Vastu shastra is a traditional Hindu system of architecture which literally translates to “science of architecture.” These are texts found on the Indian subcontinent that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement and spatial geometry. Vastu Shastras incorporate traditional Hindu and in some cases Buddhist beliefs. The designs are intended to integrate architecture with nature, the relative functions of various parts of the structure, and ancient beliefs utilizing geometric patterns (yantra), symmetry and directional alignments.
It included the science and practice of all architecture, town planning, building of houses, forts, temples and walls, as well as other associated fields including the construction of instruments, sculpting, metallurgy and weapons for warfare. This was practiced by sets of people called “Vishwakarma” who were spread across the Indian sub continent. They learnt the science based on practical apprenticeships, often but not always passed from generation to generation. It was practiced in India upto the 19th century, when Macaulay’s new education system systematically wiped out traditional methods. It was used to build exceptionally large structures made primarily of stone and without mortar, including the gigantic temples at Ellora, the mammoth 216 feet high Brihadeeshwara temple in Thanjavur, Taj Mahal and cities like Fatehpur Sikri.
Self Help & Motivational program
Providing Opportunities with Encouragement and Recognition
Our Motivational Program’s Mission
To provide teachers with the necessary tools to enhance student engagement, academic performance, and mental toughness through positive speech, recognition of effort, and truthful and specific praise.
A – Accountability is paramount for the growth and development of teachers, students and parents. I will convey how self and peer-to-peer accountability can lead to a more sustainable, empowered, and proactive environment. The ability to take responsibility for one’s actions helps reduce the intrusion of self-entitlement and the denial of mistakes.
C – Culture is simply defined as the way a particular class, school, or community does things on a daily or consistent basis. We must be intentional about creating a culture of positive dialogue, shared responsibility, servant leadership, and love. Not only must the teachers create a positive culture, the parents must also do the same. The actions of the students will not be in congruence with extraordinary desires if there is no communication between the models at home and the models at school.
T – Transparency – The problems we faced in the past may be a solution for someone in the future! As educators, it is important to involve personal stories of struggle and what it took to become a victor and not a victim. Students will respond to a spirit of transparency because, in all things, we must first EARN THE RIGHT to mentor and teach those whom we are charged with changing in this world.
I – Integrity – It is not simply good enough to do the right things, we must also do things the right way. Leadership, character, and morality create an environment that makes others change for the better. Success will not be obtained if it is pursued in an ungodly or ill-mannered way.
O – Optimism – I have seen too many instances of children being labeled before they ever step into a classroom. We owe it to these young men and women to point out their “ceiling ability” and what steps they need to take to get there. An optimistic view can inspire a student to work harder than he or she ever has before. Maya Angelou once said, “People may not remember what you said, they may not remember what you did, but they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel!”
N – Never Ending Love – Love is the foundation of discipline, correction, training, and teaching. The desire to be loved is prevalent in the children of today and it is necessary to allow them to see how much they mean to this world. Love covers a multitude of sins and in those moments, young men and women will realize they are here for a purpose and will work to walk in that purpose forever.
